Mother, child struck by car in Waterford; 1 person in custody

WATERFORD --  Police said a mother and child were struck by a car Monday afternoon.

Around 4 p.m., police said 27-year-old Shane Bidwell of Waterford swerved into a mother and child with his 2006 tan colored Toyota Corolla.

Waterford police said the two victims are in stable condition. They were transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital.

Bidwell was charged with two counts of risk of injury to children, reckless endangerment and a DUI as well as several other charges.

He was held at the Waterford Police Department on a $250,000 bond.

No other details have been released.
