GLASTONBURY -- Firefighters responded to Griswold Gardens on Salem Court Friday night to fight a fire in the apartment building, and say that one person was declared dead at the scene.
The call came in about 8:30 p.m, for a reported smoke condition inside the building. They found a fire that was contained to one unit in the complex, and when they entered they found the victim.
No details on the victim have been released yet.
Power was cut to the entire building as part of the fire department's response. But it was restored overnight and the department says all residents were allowed to return home.
The Glastonbury Fire Marshal was on scene Saturday, continuing the investigation into the fire's cause.
This is a developing story.
