SIMSBURY, Conn. — Search crews found a man's body inside Talcott Mountain State Park Saturday after a report of a missing person Friday night, the state's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said.
DEEP Environmental Conservation police responded to the park after they said they received a report that a person out of Enfield had gone missing and was believed to be in the area of Talcott Mountain at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
EnCon police searched the area along with Enfield police, Avon police and Simsbury's police and fire departments.
Crews suspended the rescue effort at 11:30 p.m. Friday and resumed Saturday morning when they found a man's body in the park. At 3 p.m., Simsbury police reported that the rescue effort ended.
The State Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is working to determine a cause and manner of death. DEEP EnCon police is investigating.
Talcott Mountain State Park is reopen for visitors after the investigation.
