NORTH HAVEN, Conn. — North Haven detectives are investigating the death of a man whose body was found near a stream on Saturday, police said.
Officers and a fire crew responded to the area of Shawmut Avenue around 2:30 p.m. after receiving a report about a body inside of a culvert, police said. The culvert was adjacent to a stream that extends from the roadway to a wooded area.
The man has not been identified, but police said he appeared to be in his 30's and that the body appeared to be in a state of decomposition. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said that the cause of death is still being determined at this time.
The North Haven Police Investigative Services Division, along with the Connecticut Medical Examiner's Office, are leading the investigation, police said.
Police ask anyone with information regarding the man's death to please contact the police department.
