GROTON, Conn. — Two people died in a fiery car crash late Friday night on an off-ramp of Interstate 95 in Groton, according to Connecticut State Police.
Troopers were called to the area of Exit 87 on I-95 North around 9:20 p.m.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a Ram 1500 went off the left side of the exit ramp and crashed into a guardrail and a tree. The pickup truck then caught on fire, state police said.
The two people inside the truck were pronounced dead at the scene. State police identified the victims Tuesday as Timothy Montague, 36, and Lori Lynn Botero, 34, both of New London.
Anyone with information on this deadly crash is asked to call Trooper Timothy Wengloski at 860-848-6500, extension 5.
This is a developing story.
