I-95 North in East Haven reopened after fuel tanker fire closed the highways for hours

The highway is closed between Exits 51 and 53 . State Police say no injuries were reported.

EAST HAVEN, Conn. — Drivers on I-95 North saw a massive backup during their Friday morning commute.

Connecticut DOT reported the highway was closed between Exits 51 and 53 because a fuel tanker truck crashed and caught fire.

BREAKING: I-95 N in East Haven is CLOSED due to a Fuel Tanker Fire. @T2Fox61 will be joining live from the scene. No injuries reported according to @CT_STATE_POLICE @FOX61News

State Police said no injuries were reported and all traffic was being diverted off Exit 51.
