    OLD LYME — State police say two women were killed in a 3-car crash on I-95 Wednesday afternoon. Police say that a tractor-trailer driven by Francis Cosenza, 58, of East Haven, was stopped in the right lane due to traffic. A Ford Mustang driven by Eleanor McCarthy, 71, of Guilford along with her passenger Iris Cooper, 72, of Pennsylvania, were stopped behind the tractor-trailer.   • Route 6 reopened in Farmington after three-car crash

    FARMINGTON — Police said that a part of Route 6 is now reopened,  several hours after a serious accident. Just before 7 a.m., police said a multi-car crash happened on Route 6, west of Waterside Drive.     HARTFORD — Hartford Police say they have noticed a pattern in Hartford and the surrounding area where thieves steal the keys to dealership cars, and if they don’t steal the car right away they come back later on.   • Three Hartford men arrested, police seize 453 bags of heroin

    HARTFORD — Hartford Police say they have arrested two men after 453 bags of heroin, 5 grams of raw heroin, and 2.9 ounces of marijuana were seized in a car. Police say that Vice & Narco investigators were traveling north on Maple Avenue when they saw a disturbance coming from inside a car. The car was outside 20 Maple Avenue, near Hartford Hospital.   • Apartment complex in Glastonbury evacuated after gas leak

    GLASTONBURY — A construction crew hit a gas line outside an apartment complex in Glastonbury prompting evacuations. The Addison Mill Apartments were evacuated Wednesday morning due to the leak. As of 9:40 a.m., police say the gas has been shut off and the leak was secure. Addison Road is closed at Hebron Ave and Eastern. Mill Street is closed at Hebron Ave. Fire and utility crews are on scene, no injuries reported.  

  • Wethersfield High School students let back in after freon leak

    WETHERSFIELD — Officials say Wethersfield‘s High School was evacuated due to a freon leak in a classroom. It has since been resolved and the school aired out. Students returned back to class around 11 a.m. The call came in around 8:48 a.m. DEEP officials and the Wethersfield Fire Department were on scene. All students are accounted for.   • New Britain man arrested on murder for hire charge

    NEW BRITAIN — New Britain Police say they’ve arrested a man who was charged with a criminal attempt to commit murder with special circumstances. Police Say Talal Qatabi, 22, was arrested on October 16th in the area of 191 Broad Street in New Britain. Detectives had obtained an arrest warrant from court earlier that morning. Qatabi was taken to police headquarters where he was charged with one count of attempt to commit murder and inciting injury to persons or property. […]
