Joe Furey has been delivering weather forecasts to residents of Southern New England on both radio and TV for the last 27 years. He is currently Meteorologist for FOX61 from 4 to 10 a.m., and CBS Radio Hartford which includes WTIC News Talk 1080, 96.5 TICFM, Lite 100.5 WRCH, 93.7 WZMX and 97.3 WZBG.

After graduating Villanova University in 1983, Joe spent more than four years at Western Connecticut State University as a graduate student and then assistant director of the weather center under the direction of Dr. Mel Goldstein.

He taught weather at Western Connecticut State University, the University of Hartford and Talcott Mountain Science Center in Avon in the 1980′s while doing TV weather for News 12 Connecticut.

Furey became Director of the New England Weather Service in the early 1990′s doing weather forecasts for major corporations like Northeast Utilities while doing the FOX61 News at 10 p.m. Joe is married with 4 daughters.

    The forecast has an unsettled look to it for much of this week, although we have no real washouts on the way. The biggest concern looking forward is the threat for storms Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday evening.
