    WEST HAVEN — Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in a hotel room on Sunday morning. Police responded to the Hampton Inn Hotel on Sawmill Road around 6:30 a.m. According to police, a woman was robbed at gunpoint by a patronizing client.     WINDHAM — A woman is dead and another is injured after their car lost control Sunday morning. The accident happened on Route 6 around 1:20 a.m. According to State Police, Emily Marrotte, 20, of Windham was driving her 1998 Toyota Avalon X westbound on Route 6 when she lost control on a curve.     MERIDEN — A 19-year-old is dead after a car crash on Sunday morning. The crash happened near the Walnut Grove Cemetery at 817 Old Colony Road around 2 a.m. According to police, Hector Sanchez, 19 of Meriden hit several trees causing his car to split in half. Sanchez was trapped in the car.     HARTFORD — Police are investigating a deadly car crash on Saturday morning. Police responded to the collision in the area of 350 Barbour Street around 2 a.m. According to police, victims were trapped in both vehicles.     BETHANY — State Police Major Crimes has been investigating an untimely death Sunday in Bethany. Troopers responded to  Wooding Hill Road around 4:30 a.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, troopers located a man dead on the ground. Detectives have positively identified the dead man as Joel R. Suero, 27, of Whalley Avenue in New Haven. No other victims were located. According to police, officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance on Chestnut Street shortly before 7 p.m. on Friday.     SOUTHINGTON — A man is in critical condition after he was hit by a car Saturday night. Police were sent to the McDonald’s at 675 Queen Street around 9 p.m. Officers determined a 16-year-old was driving northbound on Queen Street in a BMW. 33-year-old Justin Spielvogel, was crossing Queen Street  from the Exxon Mobile Gas Station when he was struck.     BEACON FALLS — State Police are investigating a suspicious death on Burton Road. Troopers were sent to 317 Burton Road for a reported drowning victim around 4:30 p.m. Friday.   • Service outages shut down DMV phone center

    WETHERSFIELD — A service outage from Verizon caused a shutdown of the Department of Motor Vehicles’ phone center on Saturday. According to the DMV, those dialing the DMV phone center will receive a busy signal. Verizon  reported to DMV that the issue is being impacted by a higher level outage. It is unclear when the phone center will be back up. DMV locations around the state remain open.

  • Car slams into church walkway in Wethersfield

    WETHERSFIELD — The walkway of a church was damaged after a car drove into it on Sunday morning. It happened around 11:30 a.m. at the Corpus Christi Church at 581 Silas Deane Highway. According to fire officials, the female driver sustained minor injuries and was treated in the parking lot. It is unclear how the woman crashed into the walkway.
