    HARTFORD — Police arrested a man who assaulted and robbed a church pastor last weekend. Raheem Rankine, 20 of East Hartford assaulted Pastor Luis Borges during a craigslist transaction for a $400 iPhone.   • Child struck by car in East Hartford

    EAST HARTFORD — A two-year-old child is in serious condition after they were struck by a car on Sunday. The accident happened in the area of 125 Sawka Drive shortly before 9 a.m. The child was transported to Hartford Hospital.     WILLIMANTIC — Police arrested a man after he was intoxicated at a bar with his children early Sunday morning.     HARTFORD — New Britain resident Jonas Hampton won the 2015 Eversource Hartford Marathon on Saturday with a time of 2:15:58 .     WINDSOR LOCKS — Bradley International Airport served as a staging area for a mass-casualty drill on Saturday. The drill, which simulates an aircraft accident, involved 25 different emergency response agencies and over 100 people. These drills must be performed every three years as a requirement of the Federal Aviation Administration. The drill took place from 7:45 – to 11:00 a.m.

  • Off-duty officer saves 81-year-old woman from drowning

    GREENWICH — A police officer was awarded “Officer of the Month” after saving an 81-year-old swimmer in distress. Officer Sean J. Welsh was off duty at Todd’s Point Beach with his family on August 9th.  Welsh saw a woman start to pull a swimmer out of the water and ran over to provide assistance.
