  • Hartford police investigate deadly shooting on Lisbon Street

    HARTFORD — Hartford police are investigating a late-night shooting that ended with one man dead. The shooting happened in the rear parking lot of 50 Lisbon Street at around 10:45 p.m. Sunday. Police said a car took man to Hartford Hospital with a single gunshot wound to the head and he later died at around 11 p.m. Police say there was at least one witness to the shooting.   • Hartford firefighters rescue people from building fire, dozens of people displaced

    HARTFORD — Dozens of people are out of their home after an early morning fire in Hartford Monday. The second-alarm  fire started at around 3 a.m. at 69 Ward Place, and firefighters later said it was caused by faulty electrical work. When firefighters arrived, people were trapped on the third floor and they were able to rescue the 5 to 10 people.   • Meriden police investigating after woman found unharmed after possibly being abducted

    MERIDEN – Meriden police are investigating after they said a woman was found unharmed, after possibly being abducted on Fair Street. They said a woman was possibly abducted by a man after a domestic situation. Police said besides the Fair Street area, they are also investigating other areas of town.     ORANGE- State police are investigating a road rage shooting on an I-95 off-ramp on the Orange/Milford line. The shooting happened at exit 41 on I-95 north around 9:00 p.m. Thursday night.   • Fire destroys barn in Litchfield

    LITCHFIELD- A barn was destroyed in an early morning fire Monday in Litchfield. The fire started before 3 a.m. at 142 Chestnut Hill Road. No people or animals were inside. Seven fire departments from surrounding communities were called in to help put out the blaze. Firefighters say the barn is a total loss.

  • Fire forces New Haven residents from home

    NEW HAVEN- Residents were forced out of their home early Monday morning because of a fire inside their multi-unit building. Firefighters were called to 23 University Place around 2 A.M. The fire started in the basement of the home. Residents were able to make it out safely and are staying with family members. University Drive was shut down for a short time but has since re-opened. The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
