  • Eagles Pat McPadden’s Poster Dunk Punches East Catholic’s Ticket To Finals At The Mohegan Sun

    The East Catholic Eagles defeated the Waterford Lancers 81-55 in the  Class M semifinals to earn right to play the Weaver Beavers for 2014 Class M title at the Mohegan Sun Arena. The Eagles pulled away in the game in the second half and the win was punctuated by a big time poster dunk by senior forward Pat McPadden late in the fourth quarter.

    Senior forward Colins Nwafor lead the Hornets with 12 points including two monster dunks as East Hartford defeated Xavier 48-41 in first round action at the CIAC Class LL boys tournament.

  • Weaver Beaver Chaylynn Martin with Vicious Dunk

    Tuesday night the Weaver Beavers boys basketball team defeated crosstown rival Hartford Public 72-52 in semifinals of the Central Connecticut Conference tournament. The win was punctuated by a dunk from Weaver freshman Chaylynn Martin late in the fourth quarter. The Beavers will go on to face Maloney-Meriden on Thursday in the final.

Gima Sport, a 20-year-old company in the south end of Hartford, is one of the manufacturers commissioned to make  Super Bowl caps, and the rush is on.
