Woman Dies After Fight In Hartford

HARTFORD—A 21-year-old woman died after a fight with another woman in the area of Auburn Street and Westland Street around 11 p.m. Thursday, police said.Police are not labeling the woman’s death a homicide, noting that she had no obvious signs of trauma and no weapons were used in the fight.The medical examiner’s office will determine her cause of death.

Witnesses in the area told police that the victim was fighting with another woman. She separated herself from the fight and collapsed, police said.

Officers dispatched to the scene of the fight tried reviving the unconscious 21-year-old with cardiopulmonary resuscitation, police said.

She was rushed to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center and was pronounced dead.

Investigators have been in contact with the other woman involved in the altercation. They believe the women knew each other.
