MIDDLETOWN A man who was found mentally insane after killing his wife will be in front of the psychiatric security review board later this morning.

Board members are scheduled to review David Messenger’s case and consider an application for temporary leave filed by Connecticut Valley Hospital in Middletown.

This morning, psychiatrists will ask the Board to allow David Messenger to enter an overnight residential program in Hartford, where he would essentially live.

This is a highly controversial request, and the city of Middletown as well as the family of Heather Williamson Messenger is objecting to David Messenger’s bid for additional freedom.
