Sandy Hook Task Force Leaning Toward New Site For School

The task force deciding the future location of Sandy Hook Elementary School appeared no closer to a decision Friday night after a closed briefing that preceded a public hearing in Newtown.

The briefing, held in an executive session that was closed to the public, appeared to have a notable effect on the task force members. Four teachers who spoke at the briefing left a strong impression on the task force, leading to a growing sentiment that not many want to even think about putting students and teachers back into a school on the site where 20 students and six teachers were killed by a gunman on Dec. 14.
