Stan talks with critical thinking expert Louise Loomis, 85, who shares her secret to staying mentally sharp at any age.

Some of the tips Loomis offers include following your interests, building a social network, trying new things, working on your memory and staying away from television.

“Critical thinking is the kind of think that’s slow, steady, good problem solving,” Loomis said.

According to her website, Loomis her career as a science teacher in Cleveland, Ohio and continued teaching in Hartford. She received a doctorate in education from the University of Massachusetts.
