Route 2 East Hartford Accident Cleared, Occupant Tells Police She Was Assaulted

EAST HARTFORD Troopers have cleared the scene of a one-car accident on Route 2 west, but police continue to investigate the events that preceded the crash.

The accident happened about 5:50 am. between exits 5A and 4, the state Department of Transportation said in an emailed alert. The left lane was closed for about an hour.

A female occupant was transported to an area hospital, although the extent of her injuries isn’t clear. She told troopers she was the victim of an attack, police said.

The car reportedly had three occupants, two of whom tried to walk away from the crash.
