UPDATE: Charges Against UHart Student Dismissed

According to Robert Famiglietti, Tonia Wonde’s attorney and a Senior Assistant Public Defender for the State of Connecticut, all the charges against Wonde relating to the case were dismissed on June 11, 2014.


HARTFORD Campus public safety officers investigating vandalism of a light with a BB gun found three safes, lots of cash and other items that resulted in Hartford police being called in and the student being arrested early Monday.

When they went into the student’s room, officers found three safes. The student opened them for officers, police said. One safe had $9,725 in cash in it. The second safe contained three ounces of marijuana, police said. The third contained plastic bags and a scale.

Tonia Wonde, 22, of Lynn, Mass. was charged with operating a drug factory, sale of narcotics, possession of narcotics by a non-drug dependent person, possession of drug paraphernalia, breach of peace, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and possession of a controlled substance. He was held in lieu of $125,000.
