The end of the line from Grand Central Station in New York City was the train station in South Norwalk. The line continued again in Bridgeport. So to keep passengers moving in between, Metro-North provided bus service.

Buses lined up, as many as ten in a row at times, outside the stop in South Norwalk. However, early in the evening rush home, not very many boarded a bus.  Neil Johnson, who was catching a flight out of JFK to Ireland, bypassed the bus trip from Bridgeport by getting dropped off at the station in South Norwalk. “I just knew this was the most northern station I could get to,” Johnson said.

Justin McCurdy didn’t have that option. After visiting his sick grandmother in the city, McCurdy took the train to South Norwalk and claimed he had to wait for more than an hour-and-a-half to get on a bus to Bridgeport. “A lot of people frustrated, I’m just happy the bus is here so I can get home,” McCurdy said.
