Leadership Greater Hartford is a comprehensive nonprofit community leadership organization that created the Third Age Initiative.
Like other Leadership Greater Hartford programs, the Third Age Initiative offers a dynamic learning experience highlighted by community action projects carried out by teams over the course of a year or more. The emphasis of this program is to develop and engage Greater Hartford’s older adults as policy makers, change agents, program developers and project managers in the vast array of organizations and agencies that would benefit from their wisdom, insight and experience.
Doe Hentschel from Leadership Greater Hartford and Dave Megaw, who was a participant in the Third Age Initiative, join the Morning Extra to talk about the program and it’s impact on the community.
The next class will begin with six weekly day long workshops starting September 26 and October 3, 10, 17, 24 and 29. There is also a two-day retreat on November 13-14.
