HARTFORD – A special ceremony Thursday at the Legislative Office Building will celebrate Army Captain Andrew Pedersen-Keel, who was killed in Afghanistan on March 11, 2013.

The  Madison native is the 64th Connecticut service member to be memorialized on the state’s Wall of Honor in the State Capitol Complex.

The family of Pederson-Keel, along with relatives of the other 63 service members memorialized on the wall, will gather at 4:30 p.m. at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford for the public ceremony.

Pedersen-Keel, an Avon Old Farms School graduate. He was first deployed in 2008. As a platoon leader in Afghanistan, he led 150 combat foot patrols and three air assault operations. He began the special forces qualification course in 2010, and after graduating the following year deployed as a commander.
