MERIDEN – Shots were fired outside the Meriden police headquarters early Thursday. No one was injured.
Police personnel heard gunfire at 1:05 a.m. At the same time, they received reports of shots fired on Hanover Street, behind the police station, police said.
Lying on the shoulder of the road were several shell casings from a large-caliber pistol, they said. A dark-colored, small to midsize vehicle was seen speeding from the area.
“I heard shots. l ducked,” said witness Dioniluz Clausset. “I didn’t know where they were coming from.”
Police gathered evidence from the scene; detectives are investigating.
