Arnold Goldman is a Canton vet and with the group called “CTSART”, the Connecticut Animal Response Team. Goldman’s group is talking tactics about the best ways to keep your pet safe in the event of an evacuation. Goldman says Connecticut has some of the best “pet preparedness” plans of any state but notes that everything begins with a common sense plan.

“Have a leash, have a crate, have your pets medical history up to date,” Goldman advised.

With scenes of so many pets now stray from the Oklahoma tornado, there is also a high tech tool that’s getting noticed — its GPS pet tracker called “Tagg”. The Tagg tracker attaches to your pet’s collar and can be followed by computer or by a cell phone app. The device costs about one hundred dollars with an additional eight dollar monthly fee.
