The Town of Wethersfield has big plans for Memorial Day, including a parade, somber remembrance ceremony and even a Revolutionary War reenactment at a historical museum.

The parade steps off at 9 a.m. and runs through the historic and beautiful Old Wethersfield. Parade Chairman Larry Spellacy describes the parade as having something for everyone with music, cheerleaders and of course, a salute to all veterans, especially those that made the ultimate sacrifice. “As a small town we are proud that we put on a big parade,” he said.

Along the parade route you’ll find the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum, which in 1781 served  as headquarters for George Washington. In remembrance of our roots, the museum will host the annual Revolutionary War encampment at 10 a.m. featuring costumes, food and a war reenactment.
