Brandon R. Burns, of North Kingstown, R.I., was southbound on Cossaduck Hill Road in North Stonington when his 2013 Ducati M79 veered into the oncoming lane as he tried to steer through a curve, troopers said. Burns’ motorcycle slammed into a northbound Dodge Ram, and he was thrown off. He died of his injuries at the scene, police said.
The pickup driver, Alcides R. Silva, 32, of Norwich, was treated at Backus Hospital in Norwich and then released, troopers said.
State police from Troop E are investigating.
