Out Film CT is preparing for the 26th annual Connecticut Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, which kicks off on Friday.
There are some changes to the festival this year, including shorter Monday and Tuesday night programming, an evening of women’s short films and concurrent screenings at multiple venues. Most screenings will take place at Cinestudio on the campus of Trinity College in Hartford, but select weekend films will be screened at Real Art Ways.
The closing night of the festival, which runs through June 8, will have screenings in downtown Hartford at Spotlight Theatres on Front Street and the Connecticut Science Center, with a party following at the Connecticut Science Center.
“Moving closing night to downtown Hartford last year was a huge success,” said Shane Engstrom, executive director of the festival. “People really loved it, so we’re planning to build on that success this year with a spectacular finish to the festival at the Connecticut Science Center.
