EAST WINDSOR – Grief counselors will be on hand at two local high schools after two teens were killed in a weekend car crash.

Brooke Wormstedt, 15, of East Windsor and Matthew Masse, 18, of Vernon were killed in the accident, which occurred around 8 p.m. Saturday. Police said an SUV carrying five teens left the road and struck a tree on Abbe Road in South Windsor.

School officials in East Windsor and Vernon said grief counselors will be available Tuesday, the first day back at school since the wreck, to help students cope with the loss. A candlelight vigil was held at the scene of the accident on Sunday night.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
