NEW HAVEN – A 22-year-old man was shot overnight during a robbery on Pine Street, police said early Saturday.
The victim was shot in his right leg, police said. He was taken to an area hospital and is expected to recover.
The shooting happened around midnight outside of 173 Pine St. The suspect took the victim’s cell phone, shot him and then fled on foot toward Blatchley Avenue, according to police.
The suspect wore a white hooded sweatshirt and was armed with a silver-colored handgun, police said.
