248th Engineering Company Of Norwich Returns From Bahrain

WINDSOR LOCKS – A number of Army National Guardsmen returned to Windsor Locks on Tuesday.

The 248th Engineering Company of Norwich returned from their deployment in the country of Bahrain. The servicemen and women had spent 10 months providing security and installation protection duties in the country.

There were hundreds of friends and family on the tarmac waiting to greet the 248th company. The unit was given a heroes welcome at the Bradley International Air Base.

“It was a unique mission working with the Navy, Air Force and Marines and the Royal Bahrainian Air Force, and it went very well,” said Captain Keith Parent, the unit’s commanding officer and Enfield police officer in his civilian life. “Our soldiers just did an outstanding job,” Parent added.

All 120 members of the 248th company returned to Connecticut safely. The Connecticut Army National Guard reports that, around the world, there are still 300 Connecticut guardsmen still deployed on various missions.
