Kym Meyers was a freshman in college when she was struck with a debilitating liver disease and died while waiting for an organ donation. Her mother, Joann Meyers, has kept her memory alive with a fundraising motorcycle ride and community barbecue to benefit LifeChoice Donor Services, a nonprofit organization that helps match patients with available organs for transplant.

This year’s event is scheduled for June 29 in South Windsor. The ride begins at 11 a.m. at Scout Hall in East Windsor. The three-hour ride returns at 2 p.m. and features a community barbecue with live entertainment, raffle prizes, face painting, basketball and other family fun.

To register for the ride and learn more, visit www.kymskause.org. And to become an organ donor, visit www.DonateLifeNewEngland.org.
