Daryl Justin Finizio, mayor of New London, and his partner, Todd Ledbetter, attended a LGBT Pride Month reception at the White House last week. Finizio was invited for the contributions he has made to advancing gay rights in Connecticut.
“I was honored to accept the President’s invitation to the White House to celebrate LGBT pride month,” Finizio said in a statement. “My partner and I are moved by this invitation and are very grateful to President Obama for doing so much to support equal rights for all Americans. We’re proud to attend and represent of our progressive city and its broad and diverse community of people from different nationalities, religions and genders.”
