Standoff With Armed Man In Winchester Ends Quickly, Peacefully

WINCHESTER – A standoff at a home on Mundry Road in Winchester ended quickly and peacefully Tuesday morning.

Torrington police initially responded to the home for a well-being check and found that the resident of the home was despondent and armed. Since the home was in Winchester, Torrington police called in Winchester police.

The state police SWAT team was also summoned about 10 a.m.

The incident ended about 10:15 a.m. when the man walked out of the house to waiting police and surrendered.
