Fatal Crash Closes Route 63 In New Haven

new havenNEW HAVEN – Two men are dead after their vehicle crashed into a gas station where Routes 63 and 69 meet in New Haven. A third person was seriously injured.

New Haven police Officer David Hartman said the car was westbound, went airborne and took out the supports for the canopy over the pumps of the Mobil gas station at Amity Road and Whalley Avenue. The gas station canopy collapsed, he said.

Route 63 is closed to traffic in the area as police investigate.
