The investigation into New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez continued Saturday. The Bristol native remains embroiled in an investigation involving the death of a friend.

There are still many unanswered questions, including whether or not an arrest warrant has been issue for Hernandez. Saturday afternoon investigators spent hours inside his home. They had K-9’s in hand and came out at times with bags. The week hasn’t been well for the athlete. A friend of Hernandez’s, 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, was found dead less than a mile away from Hernandez’s home in Massachusetts. Lloyd was found in an industrial park.

Friends in Bristol don’t believe Hernandez was involved in the death.

“He went from a good kid to a good guy, and I think it’s a shame what’s going on,” said Tiana Ramahlo.

Ramahlo said she grew up with Hernandez and hung out with him at times. She can’t imagine him doing such a thing.

“He’s not the type of person to have that mentality to do something like that, to harm another person to the point where he loses his life,” she said.

Jennifer McLeod’s son was a high school freshman football player when Hernandez was a senior. She said Hernandez was always pleasant around her.

“I really had no issue with him, although my son said that he and some of their teammates did, but for me he was always very respectful,” said McLeod.

Police are not calling Hernandez a suspect in the murder. The family of Lloyd wants to know, like everyone else, why police continue to search his home.

“I’d like to know why,” said Olivia Thibou, the victim’s sister. “He was a very great guy. What could he have possibly done to anger anybody to do that? That’s all I can really say.”

Saturday there was no sighting of Hernandez at his home. His attorney was on scene in the afternoon while police searched the home. Meanwhile, friends in Bristol continue to stand by Herndandez.

“A of people in Bristol who know him and really know him, not just say they know him and that grew up with him, will say the same thing. This is not something that we could see Aaron ever doing,” said Ramahlo.
