As a kid, and as a New England Patriot, Aaron Hernandez enjoyed coming by his uncle’s home on Lake Avenue in Bristol.
Neighbors say he was often part of family gatherings, and as a kid, could be seen playing in the neighborhood. After all, the field he played youth football on is just across the street.
“Aaron, he’s got a heart of gold on him, sweetheart of a kid,” neighbor Mickie Steele said.
Steele said she last saw Hernandez at his uncle’s house about a couple months ago.
On Wednesday, however, it was investigators who paid a visit, according to neighbors.
Detectives from both Connecticut and Massachusetts were seen searching the property.
“Just saw a bunch of cars lined up when I pulled in and they seem like they went through the garage and that was about it,” Dennis Dallaire said.
Police here and in Massachusetts wouldn’t confirm they were out the house, and therefore it’s unclear if they recovered any evidence.
