A Stratford man is causing a stir in his neighborhood for flying a Nazi flag in front of his Joseph Sincavage, 74, said he is making a political statement, signifying his disappointment in the policies of President Obama.

“President Obama keeps giving more and more power to himself,” Sincavage said.

But some neighbors of the Marine Corps veteran are not interpreting the flag that way.

“To me it’s a symbol of racism, of bigotry, and it doesn’t really have anything to do, in  my mind, with any kind of protest over government or our president,” Jocelyn Murray said.

Another neighbor said she had no problem with the flag.

“He has every right to do it. It’s in our First Amendment rights. It’s in the Constitution, and it doesn’t offend me,” Sharon Burr said.

Sincavage said he will only take the flag down if the Obama administration changes.

“If one of three things happens: that President Obama changes his policies, or he resigns, or he’s impeached,” Sincavage said.
