The votes are in, and after 1,800 ballots a West Haven couple will name their son Logan.

Mark Dixon and Jennifer James were excited to learn they were expecting a baby boy. But they faced the age old question of  how to pick a name.

According to Jennifer, they had “absolutely no idea what we were going to do for a boy’s name.”

After months of conversations with friends and family, the pair narrowed their choice to two names: Jackson and Logan. Together Mark and Jennifer decided to have customers at their favorite Starbucks in New Haven vote to help with their decision.

With the permission of the staffers at the Chapel Street coffee shop, Mark and Jennifer set a sign out next to an empty extra large cup and waited for the votes to pour in.

Mark was surprised.

“I had no idea that the turnout would be this big,” he said.

While most stuck to the two name choices, there were a few write-in ideas, including J. Lo, Hulk Hogan, Barack Obama and George Clooney Super Hero Architect.

Ultimately, Logan won by more than 500 votes. The Dixons are saving all of the ballots in a scrapbook for Logan to enjoy for years to come.
