The Capitol Report panel discusses two trips that lawmakers have planned for vacation.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy will be vacationing to Nantucket and attending a meeting of other Democratic lawmakers. Donald Williams, the Democrat leader of the state Senate, had planned to take a trip to Morocco. Republican leaders had criticized the trip, which was going to be paid for by the State Legislative Leaders Foundation.

“It appears that Governor Malloy’s penchant for global expeditions must be contagious,” state Republican Party chairman Jerry Labriola said in a statement. “Certainly they share the same appetite for taxing, borrowing and spending, and it is now clear that they share the same love of travel when someone else – whether the taxpayer, a magazine or a king – is picking up the tab.”
Williams eventually cancelled the trip due to an illness in the family.
