A heat advisory is in effect for parts of the state as high temperatures and humidity hang over north central and northeastern Connecticut.

The National Weather Service in Taunton, Mass. issued a heat advisory early Friday morning; it will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to AccuWeather.com.

The thermometer will reach well into the 90s for the second day in a row. While the temperature at the shore will stay in the 80s, inland temperatures are expected to reach 88 degrees by noon and 94 degrees by 2 p.m., said FOX CT Meteorologist Dan Amarante.

Thanks to the humidity, “It’s going to feel like 100,” he said.

People are advised to drink fluids and stay out of the sun when possible.

The advisory also is in effect in the Connecticut Valley area of Massachusetts and in the Merrimack Valley region of Hillsborough County in New Hampshire.
