The hits kept coming in Hamden today and it was all to benefit the Arthritis Foundation.

A group there plays a “wiffleball-type game” called “Junk ball” to raise money.

Led by 16 year old Jack Diana,  the tournament is currently in the 6th year.

The Diana Family has turned their sprawling backyard into a ball field, with real umpires and even local sponsors.

“One of the things these kids learn about is how to give back,” said Bob Smith the VP of Development for the Arthritis Foundation. “It really is a win-win on every front,” Smith added as he watched the action from the make shift first base line.

This was year number six for the tournament  which lasted 4 days.  The players, mostly kids and teens, raised about $3,400 for the Arthritis Foundation, reaching their goal.
