In July of 2003, a group of men were playing dice in the Chappelle Gardens neighborhood in Hartford.
One of those men was 27-year-old John Watson. Watson was assaulted and stabbed in the neck, suffering mortal wounds.
After attempting to get to his car, Watson eventually ran into two men he knew, and was rushed to St. Francis Hospital.
Watson died at the hospital, within 10 minutes of his arrive.
Despite the large crowd at the dice game, very few people have come forward with information.
Eventually, a witness helped to identify a suspect, and an arrest was made. However, the witness eventually recanted and refused to testify.
With little to go on, the case was dismissed from court, and no one was brought to justice.
