Three Charged In New London Moped Thefts

NEW LONDON — Three men were charged with stealing two mopeds on separate occasions at gunpoint early Saturday morning, police said.

Police said a juvenile followed a moped in a car on Ashcraft Road before pulling the moped over and stealing it, according to a release from New London police.

Police said a few hours later, the juvenile, along with Hassan Foster-Carney, 18, of 320 Central Ave. in Norwich, and Dwayne Miller, 18, of 26 Jefferson Ave. in New London, stole another victim’s moped in a Wendy’s parking lot on Colman St.

Foster-Carney, Miller and the juvenile were all charged with robbery and larceny, and the adults’ bail was set at $50,000, according to the release. The juvenile was taken to a juvenile detention center.
