Man Killed In West Haven Motorcycle Crash

WEST HAVEN — A Milford man was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed on Ocean Avenue Saturday night, police said.

Police responded to the area of Ocean and Nashawena avenues around 7:30 p.m. for the report of a serious motor vehicle accident.

Witnesses said a motorcycle driven by 24-year-old Ronald Vece was following a vehicle driven by his girlfriend, police said. The two vehicles crossed a double yellow line to pass a vehicle in front of them. When they returned to the proper lane, Vece’s motorcycle struck the right rear of his girlfriend’s vehicle.

After the collision Vece lost control of the motorcycle, crashing into the pavement, curbing, a traffic sign and wooden fencing, police said. He was treated at the scene and pronounced dead at Yale-New Haven Hospital, police said.
