Sunday we begin to bring in the heat, and it won’t go anywhere for a while. We’ll be right up near 90 for many inland towns Sunday, with partly sunny skies and the chance for a shower or thunderstorm during the afternoon. You may notice the higher humidity, and it won’t be going anywhere throughout this entire upcoming week.

Monday through Thursday we have the hazy sunshine along with the sweltering heat. It’s likely that the National Weather Service will issue heat advisories for Connecticut, and cooling centers should be available in many cities. The worst of it peaks mid-week, with highs in the mid 90s.

With all of that heat and humidity around, there may be a few showers and thunderstorms firing off during the afternoons, especially toward the end of the week. We’ll have to watch Thursday and Friday for the potential for thunderstorms.
