Connecticut attorney Brian Woolf talks about what’s next for George Zimmerman now that he has been acquitted of murder and manslaughter in the death of Trayvon Martin. It’s possible that federal civil rights violations could be filed against Zimmerman, or he could face a civil lawsuit from Martin’s family.

In Washington, the Justice Department said it was evaluating whether it has enough evidence to support prosecution of Zimmerman. Critics contend Zimmerman wrongly suspected the 17-year-old Martin of being a criminal because he was black, making it a civil rights issue.

Civil rights leaders, including Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Benjamin Jealous, president of the NAACP, urged the Justice Department to pursue federal civil rights charges against Zimmerman.
