Extreme weather so far this year has made it extremely hard on farmers in Connecticut.

At Killam & Bassett Farmstead in South Glastonbury, Kevin Bassett said he’s still recovering after three feet of snow from the February blizzard destroyed three greenhouses. To make matters worse, a wet Spring ruined about ten acres of corn.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t get better after a very hot summer has caused his tobacco plants to blossom early.

“We try to work with the weather, and the weather really hasn’t been working with us at all this year, at all,” Bassett complained.

The 86-acre farm is now working quickly to pick crops which are ripe for harvesting.
