The 2013 MLB All- Star game will be played for the first time at Citi Field, the home of the New York Mets.

Recent Mets draft pick L.J. Mazzilli, son of Mets legend and one-time All-Star Lee Mazzilli, is starting his professional career not far away for the Brooklyn Cyclones in the New York-Penn League.

Mazzilli, who played second base on the UConn baseball team for four years, was taken by the Mets in the fourth round with the 116th overall pick.

During a recent series against the Connecticut Tigers, L.J. talked with photojournalist Freddie Matthis about coming up in his father’s previous organization and making the transition to professional baseball so quickly after leaving UConn.
