One of our favorite summer spots is Newport, R.I., where we are seeing the “city by the sea” from high above sea level. That’s because you can now sail on the water and then sail into the sky.

After spending the last 16 years in Hawaii, Wade Vaiciulis has come home to the East Coast and opened up Island Style Parasail.

“We thought Newport needed some Parasailing, so here we are,” Vaiciulis said.

With all the latest Parasail equipment, riders soar in to the sky individually, in tandem,  even three at a time.

“Everything is state of the art with all the latest safety gear on the boat,” Vaiciulis added.

If you’ve ever wanted the see the sights of Newport, parasailing takes the experience to the next level.

“We can put up 800 feet of line maximum height. We’ll put you up vertically about 500 feet,” Vaiciulis said.

Kevin Pilger, the ship’s first mate said,  “It’s nice to be up there and to feel the wind in your face and just kind of hanging up there and relaxing.”

Island Style Parasail takes trips daily from Bowen’s Ferry Landing in the heart of Newport. The scenic rides usually last about an hour and a half, and passengers age 5 and up can parasail! For schedules and rates, click here to go to IslandStyleParasail.com.
