Aaron Hernandez will have to sit in jail for at least another 30 days for a probable cause hearing.

That hearing was supposed to happen Wednesday, but an Attleboro District Court Judge granted the prosecution’s request for a continuance.

Prosecutors claimed the hearing conflicts with the grand jury convening on a 2012 Boston double-homicide Hernandez allegedly has been linked to.

The former New England Patriots star is already charged with murdering Odin Lloyd.

Hernandez’s attorneys argued for a dismissal, saying prosecutors had plenty of time to present their case.

“Aaron is going to be exonerated, he’s now been in jail for 28 days without any chance for his lawyers to question a single witness, to examine any documents, to go forward with a hearing,” Charles Rankin, Hernandez’s attorney, said.

“What took place today was, in my view at least, completely routine, and with respect to our preparation, you’ll see the fruits of our preparation eventually,” Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter said.

The probable cause hearing for Hernandez is now set for August 22.
