Pia O’Halloran and Karen Stanford combined their passion for photography and helping others to create a calendar that will be sold to benefit domestic violence prevention programs.

Some of the women who posed in the calendar have experienced some form of domestic violence. They said the experience has been enlightening, empowering and has given them a voice and allowed them to accomplish things they never thought possible.

O’Halloran and Stanford said they chose to benefit Interval House, which operates shelters for women who are leaving abusive relationships, because it provides a safe place and provides services and assistance to those in need.

The calendar will be sold at Middletown Mania on Wednesday, Aug. 14, and the 12 models will be in attendance to sign each calendar sold. The duo plans to continue putting out a calendar each year and continue to donate the proceeds to Interval House.
